Objective

The objective of the research is to conductpublication analysis for ‘R.M.D.Engineering College’ (Henceforth referred to as ‘RMD’)to analyze the quantity and quality of research publications of the Institute.

Scope:

To consolidate all of R.M.D’sresearch publications into one database to analyze the following:

Our Research for publications for R.M.D Engineering College in 4 databases viz., Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE and Google Scholar has identified a consolidated unique list of 821 publications for the period Jan 2011-Nov 2020.

2. CITATION TREND

A true measure of a Institute’s progress with respect to academic research is showing increase in number of citations for the Institute’s publications.

Scopus and Web of Science gives a comparative tracking of citations received by papers of aInstitute every year. So papers published right from inception of the Institute, up and until the year of measurement, is considered and the citations received by those papers in the year of measurement are tracked.

4. PUBLICATIONS’ LEVEL ANALYSIS

For identifying whether a Journal/Conference is National or International, we find out the publisher and based on the nationality of the publisher (Headquarters of the publisher’s office) we decide if the corresponding Journal/Conference is International or National. All Journals/Conferences organized/run by Indian publishers are tagged ‘National’ while all Journal/Conferences organized/run by Non-Indian publishers are tagged ‘International’.

6. h-INDEX ANALYSIS

6.1. SCOPUS

The h-Index is based on the distribution of citations received by a given Institute’s publications. An index of ‘h’ for a Institute indicates that among the articles published by the Institute, ‘h’ articles have been cited at least ‘h’ number of times.
